Types of Panchakarma

Panchakarma is a core Ayurvedic detoxification and rejuvenation therapy designed to cleanse the body, mind, and spirit. The term means "five actions" and refers to five therapeutic procedures such as Vamana,Virechana,Nasya, Basti,Raktamokshana,aimed at eliminating toxins and restoring balance to the doshas (Vata, Pitta, and Kapha).

Virechana

It is a procedure in which aggravated doshas are expelled through adhomarga(rectal route) by intake of oral medicine.Virechana involves the use of herbal purgatives to stimulate the bowels and expel toxins from the body.It is most effective for Pitta related conditions, such as inflammatory disorders, skin diseases, digestive issues like acidity, ulcers, and bile-related problems.

Vamana

Vamana is an Ayurvedic therapeutic procedure,Vamana means "vomiting" or "emesis."It is a procedure intended to remove toxins (specifically Kapha dosha) from the body,It involves controlled vomiting to expel excess mucus, toxins, and impurities from the upper gastrointestinal tract.This therapy is typically recommended for individuals with Kapha-related disorders, such as asthma, bronchitis, sinusitis, and skin conditions.

Basti

Basti is one of the most powerful of the main five procedures of Panchakarma. Charaka, as well as many other Ayurvedic scholars, have praised the features of Basti. Basti is said to be equal to half of all Ayurvedic treatments.
